Mount Compatibility
Soon to be a constant in any creator's bag, the 35mm f/1.2 DG II Art Lens from Sigma is a lightweight wide-angle prime that can stay out for even the darkest scenes. The wide field of view is useful for a broad range of applications, including landscape, street, documentary, and photojournalism. Matching the versatility of the focal length, the speedy f/1.2 maximum aperture offers remarkable subject separation with expressive bokeh and impressive low-light performance without sacrificing portability.
Improved Design
  • In addition to upgrading the optical performance, Sigma has made this new 35mm f/1.2 lens approximately 30% lighter and 20% shorter than its predecessor.
  • The lens features an assignable AFL button for custom functions as well as a focus mode switch and aperture ring lock. The aperture ring can be changed from clicked to declicked for smooth video operation.
  • A water- and oil-repellent coating on the front lens element makes it possible to shoot in harsh outdoor environments, while the dust- and splash-resistant construction keeps the internal elements protected.
Precision Optical Design
  • Sigma combines four double-sided aspherical elements and one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element to ensure clarity from wide open at f/1.2 through the rest of the aperture range while reducing the lens size.
  • A total of 17 elements in 13 groups, as well as an 11-blade rounded diaphragm for expressive bokeh, resist optical aberrations including color bleeding and double lines even at f/1.2.
  • Special effort has been taken to develop backlight resistance, minimizing potential lens flare and ghosting.
Upgraded Focusing System
  • No longer purely for photography, the lens elements have been optimized to reduce focus breathing, making it a strong choice for professional video use.
  • Powered by Sigma's dual HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) focusing system for fast and quiet autofocusing without sacrificing portability.
